A New Xbox 360? HD-DVD Drive Built In…
We started off with just 2 versions of the 360. One with a hard drive, and one without. Then they dipped the plastic cover into a vat of tar, added an hdmi port and a bigger hard drive and they moved to the Xbox 360 Elite! Now, we have a sort of hybrid coming soon. A 360 that, well might not be able to be actually called a 360. It’s more of a home theater conglomerate. But the question is, will it still be a a gaming machine with a hd-dvd built in, or will it become something else?
The New Xbox 360
So here is the idea. Tkae the existing 360 and first, slap the Toshiba brand all over it, then, add an internal HD-DVD drive, then add a port for an MP3 player (most likely the Zune), give it dual HDTV tuners for watching some sweet HDTV content, and that’s not all… we have built in wireless networking and a program guide. And they probably wont stop there!
So I know microsoft wants to be in every living room, and in control of all the media that you come in contact with in a given day, but is this hybrid really something that would be useful? I am not sure. All I know is that if they are mixing xbox 360 and toshiba, I would really like the name “tosh-box3shiba” .
Either way this is not expected soon, wait to see this beast next time you light a bottle rocket in your hand, and maybe even after that. Hopefully, we will be able to miss the three red rings of death. Or maybe they will just change the color.
