Wireless HDTV in Windows Media Center Using the Xbox 360

I have seen numerous posts out there that you cannot have a wireless hdtv signal broadcast to your xbox 360 when using windows medi acenter. All I gotta say is that’s crap! Becuase I have done it! And frankly, it is simple! Here is how to get a wireless, High Definition signal from your Windows Media Center PC to your Xbox 360.

Let’s start off with a “What you need” list (assuming you have the obvious: WMC PC, Xbox 360, High Def TV):

  • The most important thing is a wireless router that supports 802.11a. I personally use the Netgear WAG102.
  • You need the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter.
  • You will need an almost un-obstructed view from your router to your Xbox 360. My set-up has a half wall and a refrigerator and bout 60 feet before it gets to my Xbox 360.
  • The know how to set-up your wireless network with the xbox 360. If you need help with this, make a comment.

That really is it… Very simple. And, a solid HDTV signal will be sent from your PC to your Xbox 360!

  1. HI. I have the WAG102 but I can only see the 802.11g wireless & not the 802.11a on my xbox. Acording to my WAG102 the 802.11a & g are both running. Please let me know how you got yours to work with the 802.11a. Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Cheers
